Another short ditty from a series of campfire songs about The Internets produced in conjunction with Koit. This one's about trolls. They get longer after this, and will be released weekly from next Monday.

Troll is just a soft fairy tale name for an abusive bully
Call them that
Trolls are subtly different, Trolling is an art form

It's like when press call a cracker a hacker
Step 1, call abusive bullies abusive bullies

"Let’s be clear here: by ‘trolls’ I mean people who say provocative, upsetting or even hurtful things purely to get a rise out of you and/or to disrupt conversations and communities. This advice about trolls covers a range of anti-social behaviour from childish mischief to downright malice."
So I'm not going to report a mischievous shirt-stirrer to police, but if I want the subject to remain on-track and on-topic, I am going to ignore them. So the same advice applies to both types of so-called troll.
Totally take your point about the word being used and abused, though.
