Sweet Home Lahnsteineringa

A little while back we posted about a Kickstarter campaign we were doing to do a second series of James Acaster's (QI, Have I Got News For You etc) comedy documentary Sweet Home Ketteringa (where he visited his hometown). We were going to Germany, to Kettering's twin town Lahnstein. We met our funding goal and have now started to release the series, this is the first episode, from the first day we arrived and there was a carnival happening.

Having gone to school in Kettering, I had the inevitable exchange trip there.
I remember very little of it other than it's a perfect match; nothing much in the town and even less in the surrounding rural villages. Although it adjoins Koblenz, which is quite a nice place; so marginally less depressing than Kettering itself.

The first day there, being caught in that torrential downpour, during a carnival, I would agree with you. After a few days though I actually started to really love it there.

Vaguely amused to see it has an 'Adolfstraße'!
Shame they banned Streetview or else I'd see if I remembered any of it, or where I stayed in Emmelshausen. My memories of it are considerably disjointed and skewed by age.
