He's doing a David Brent film where Brent forms a band and tries to become famous.
The trailer didn't look terrible, it's rare for people (especially someone with his background) to pull off the 'funny music video / song' thing though, it tries to be ironic but just comes across as a poor attempt at humour, and this is perfect proof of how badly it can go. Should have just stuck to it being a film and not gone overboard with this kind of crap.
