The car that was driving him explicitly states that its autopilot function is still under testing and that the driver should keep alert, with their hands on the wheel at all times. Every time the function is enabled.
If you're going to be a twat and ignore that advice, and spend your last precious moments watching Harry fucking Potter, then you deserve to be decapitated by an HGV.
I have absolutely no sympathy for the nobber. I do, however have a great amount of sympathy for the HGV driver. Whether or not his maneuver was safe, nobody should have to spend their work day looking at some idiots soft tissues and bone fragments smeared all over the side of their office.

Yep, it's not much more than lane-assist with a slightly smarter cruise control and emergency braking.
He had past form of multiple speeding tickets and a self-posted YouTube dashcam vid where the car auto-swerves because he couldn't be arsed to look to the side when merging with another highway.
