The link below reminded me of this - there's some spectacularly bad driving, but the sentiment seems to be that the Comcast employees are wholly to blame. I was wondering why they didn't quickly realise they should put extra cones out, but perhaps this would make them liable for the first accidents so they stuck doggedly to the official line regardless of the snow and blind spot in the road.

I'm sure that there are regulations about how far beyond a work area they have to put the cones. Then they probably worried about the safety of their employees putting cones beyond the legally required parameters, then worried about if you go this far, how far back do you have to go to encourage people to slow down in the snow? It could be miles and most of those drivers ignore the cones and hit service trucks all the time anyway.

Procedures say I should only put five cones there. It's more than my job's worth to put more out.
