Number-prefixing the filenames would just work, why use metadata at all?

This is a normal post despite being slow, clunky and pointless if it works it looks really cool sometimes
for about three seconds of 'oooh!' and hipster woo... when it works, which it mostly doesn't. and even if it does it soon wont after an update. just file name, dude - you know it makes sense.

Plus, I've had to use media players in the past that completely ignore filenames and folder structures and only use metadata (yes, they were shit).

Back in the 20th Century I had a 20G HDD Archos with Rockbox firmware and all sorts of mostly pointless games and apps on a 2" LCD screen. I loved it but I doubt it's in many museums.
