When you listen to them all together even people you despised years ago suddenly become awesome (eg percy sledge) and you'll keep discovering (eg the purify brothers)

Totally agree.
So tight. Always loved those house bands/collectives. The house band at Stax was pretty amazing too, the Big Six.

Ah, just realised you're talking purely about the horn section.
I used to play euphonium. Don't hear many of them in a horn section.
