...in that the car driver's insurance company would probably have had their own lawyers involved. Who would have said "You have no chance at all. Pay up."
If you hit someone in your car, it's pretty much 100% your fault. You're supposed to be aware of the potential that someone might cross the road, and allow yourself adequate time to brake or otherwise avoid the hazard.
