Home Automation is a foolish endeavour
I have no desire to be able to change the colour of my living room lighting from my phone, nor to have my central heating turned off by some bored internet shut-in from his parent’s basement in Utah.

Totally agree, mostly just another distracting toy/data collection device.
I doubt people need more reasons not to move about, as well.
