This is an awful story, I can't quite believe a father would put his (just) teenage daughter though the trauma of a nose job just to make her prettier. Cosmetic surgery is for those that want it. To top it off she was also coerced into an abortion. Like her parents, you are wrong.

He did it to avoid a choice between a 50 year stretch, or ending up face down in a river. Not that that makes it any better.

Admittedly there is no direct evidence of his motivations,
but given the man's history it seems more likely to me that he would want to disguise his family in secret (and use the only plausible excuse available, despite how cruel it is), than arbitrarily adjust his daughter's nose. Either way he's a cunt.
