Almost certainly not. Every composer for film is a composer and as familiar with the origins of Dies Irae as the Picardy third. The Dies Irae is obscure because of its antiquity, but it would have been immediately recognizable in a Church saturated culture. It is comparable to the ease with which Americans can easily discern fragments of "Dixie" or the "Star Spangled Banner". For the UK, maybe "Rule Brittania" or "God Save the Queen".
