I always get the get the feeling that
with Die Antwoord, they created these fake zef characters, then the characters took over and the people underneath them ceased to exist.

i may be deluded, but
i think zef is an amazing and genuine blend of serious artistic expression, counter-cultural identity and high-mischief. it might come across as superficial but i’m convinced that zef runs much deeper for watkins and visser than just dedication to their die antwoord personae.
