All useful advice
I have a shitpatch out the back which is very overgrown. Any tips on how to tidy it up so that it's more attractive to look at?

If it's really overgrown, first, I'd arrange a local kids fun day clearing the patch. I've obviously not seen your actual shitpatch, but you can't go wrong with mixed spring bulbs. And maybe an alarmed bird table for that real wow factor.
