Beg pardon, didn't spot it was a Ozzie.
Still, other experiments with the same tech have been done with real corvids in Japan. Those tengu know their stuff.

yeah, that not an australian magpie
to be honest, I wouldn't expect to see too many Australian magpies in a Göteborg backyard, where this was filmed. What you have there is is a Eurasian Magpie, (Pika Pika) which though having broadly similar feather colouring, is a different species, genus, and indeed, family of birds.
Australian maggies are bigger, have evil red eyes, and delight in raking the eyes of passing cyclists with their talons

My apologies, I clicked the link and saw a NZ domain listed.
It does bear a passing resemblance to the flying demon that raked my helmet in Akaroa once when I was cycling, though.
I think you'll find the Eurasian Magpie's binomial name is Pica pica though.
