Yep - my dad was on Arctic Convoy patrol in WW2
and this is the only war film he ever endorsed or expressed an interest in re-watching.

Respect to your dad.
My Grandad was in WW2 on a motorbike with a rifle.
Just delivering letters and stuff.
He made it through the war but died from lung cancer shortly afterwards.
