This is a normal post This, so much this
Horrid plasticky sound of grotty transducers.

This guy plays around NZ quite a lot and after a gig I collared him to find out what system he used to get such a natural sound. L R Baggs Anthem.

Went and got one and it's just magic.

No this isn't a mic sound in this clip

This is a normal post I think it's just because the Ovation was the first of its kind, the only (?) plug-in acoustic available in the late 70s/80s
and it made live performance with an acoustic much less of a headache for the crew, so everyone went for it.

It *almost* spoils the live versions of The Trees.

This is a normal post Lot's of transducers nowadays emulate that sound
I have heard of people praising how such and such a pickup 'emulates the class Ovation sound"

This is a normal post I'm rolling my eyes and shaking my head at the same time,
which is quite a feat by today's standards.

This is a normal post Yeah, I think that's it
the choice was one of those electro-magnetic-pickup-in-the-sound-hole or massive feedback until the ovation came along. It may have sounded shit but it worked.
