Public research isn't the problem, trusting IT systems is.

If I could be sure they would use the data in a careful and considered way with all the relevant privacy it deserves, then I’d happily assent. However, I’m not convinced they are capable and I’m convinced that they’d sell the dataset to anyone with the requisite beans to pay for it.
