Does one person's right to identify as a particular gender on the basis of psychology devalue or de-legitimise someone else's right to identify as the same gender on the basis of biology?

there a conflict about definition and category. Who defines it, do other have to accept that definition. For trans they want to define words like women or man as a function of gender identity assertion. Some think it's a function of biology. I think it's a combination identity, biology, and lived cultural experience that define the term women, but language is meaning we agree on. then theres the issue that should we force trans people to use the traditional definition? should they force the rest of society to accept and use their definition, by legislation or by shaming those who don't as seems to be the case now. If we do define them as the term women, does it follow that they should inherit all the rights of women despite their differences? What impact will that have on the rights women currently have to separate women-only spaces away from men. It's complex and theres a lot of side issues. Sport, prison, family court, family violence, business grants, bafta categories, health services there's hundreds, perhaps thousands of areas where women are currently treated differently or have different services to men, so there are competing rights. it's not a zero sum game, though I will say the attention and interest the debate gets, when it's quite small numbers, is a reflection of the importance we place on gender. It matters to us even if we pretend it doesn't. There's research across different cultures that shows that it's one of the first things we do in any social interaction is try to establish the gender the person we are interacting is, and we're very good at it.

that I am sure nobody will agree with, is to have more than 2 genders.
Men, Women, Tmen, Twomen, and NB plus whatever else you want.
Each with their own toilets, sporting categories, help groups, abuse shelters, everything.
It would totally end the argument, which is one reason why nobody on either side will like the idea.
