That wasn't really what I meant
- I meant that it's not great journalism to say "Bad people are bad" and to include a flawed indication of frequency of the badness without commenting on the methodology of the sampling (a social media survey with 80 respondents is not good practice for any kind of investigation).
As they say on the BBC's More or Less stats programme, "Is that a big number?" and "Where does that number come from?"
For comparison, a survey of over 22 thousand women by Victim Focus found that nearly all responded that they had been subjected to violence, harassment, or rape (over 99 %). There's much more detail in the full report, it's not nice to read.

Now, none of this is to say that some trans people aren't trying to coerce lesbians into sex, or that to do so isn't a shit thing to do.
All I'm saying is that the article doesn't attempt to put the numbers into any context, but instead presents these anecdotes as if they were evidence of a normal behaviour.
We don't have the facts to back that up.

I know. It really is shitty journalism.
Just the other day I was reading on the BBC website about a car accident with two fatalities. Outrageously the BBC chose not to mention that UK roads are amongst the safest in the world and the odds of being involved in a fatal car crash are vanishingly small. Yet again the BBC had failed to contextualize the story which amounted to a heinous misrepresentation of the facts.

Compare that with the journalism they did on Smart Motorways, where they put the rate of incidents per mile into context with the other motorways that still have hard shoulders
Rates of crimes sourced from dubious self-selecting surveys without the supporting context is a very different thing to reporting on an instance of a crime.

Bad people pressure other people into sex, and some of those bad people are trans.
The bad journalism is to present it as if it was a thing that only trans people are doing, which is fucking preposterous.
Frankly, I'd like to leave the whole shitty subject of trans exclusionary propaganda alone, but you brought it up.

I can imagine there are a number of subreddits out there dedicated to resentful pre-op trans woman neckbeards that probably quite easily reach the 16K active user count.
It's not exactly what I'd call a significant public reaction.
The only thing I really take exception to is the BBC's decision to publish a complete non-story like this in the first place. It's practically verging on concern trolling. No reasonable person is going to call somebody transphobic because they don't want to have sexual relations with a transgender/transexual individual. The fact I don't want to have sex with Zachary Quinto doesn't make me a gay basher.
At the end of the day, if you don't want to fuck somebody, you certainly don't owe that person an explanation as to why not. If a simple "no thanks" isn't enough then I'd probably start giving that individual a rather wide berth.
