This is a normal post that's a bit debatable
kolberg was released in jan 45 in a single cinema. The comedy "A Man Like Maximilian" was only released in march, and was being screened in berlin cinemas while the final battle of berlin had already started. They probably were a bit starved of light entertainment. The last film released was in april 45, "The Noltenius Brothers", with goebbels favourite actor, Willie Birgel (though work dried up a little until 1950 for him). but i guess kolberg had more of a propaganda slant to it

This is a normal post Sure, hence the "evar!".
But for me, it's similar to Nero's fiddle.
There's plenty of volk sturming about, and in the cinema just as that idea proved pretty ineffective.
The idea that under shelling, bombing, strafing, almost everything in ruins and Soviets entering the city a Berliner would choose to go to the cinema is delightfully absurd.
