actually, people make oversights quite often on questions about where you've travelled. generally as it's not information that would have been grounds for refusal, there is nothing particular wrong with visiting spain, they wouldn't consider as you say "sufficient to kick anyone out of the country" and I very much doubt they'll rely on this ground as a basis. There's issues around consistency of decision making. if Border Force recind novak visa on this ground, they'll be asked to justify why they don't do this with other people. a lot of the reporting, especially around his appeal, has been quite poor and inaccurate even around the basic facts of the case.
