Apparently, Ukraine has/had quite the problem with white supremacy/neo-nazi groups.
See: Azov Battalion. It seems that the Ukrainian government and law enforcement are largely in support of it all.
I'm sure birb will come steamrolling along at any moment to furiously berate me for spreading pro-Russian propaganda and school me on how Ukraine is actually a perfect East-European Nordic oasis of tolerance and acceptance. But let's be honest, it's not exactly the picture we've been getting at the border.
That's not to say that having a higher than average incidence of hate crime is justification for invasion by another nation with equally low (if not, lower) tolerance of people that look, speak, fuck or pray differently. But still, it's maybe important to realise that being bombed doesn't make you any less of a cunt. They *absolutely* don't deserve the bollocking they've been on the receiving end of. But it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
