Depends on the definition. If they were expecting a long-lasting jab guaranteed to kill a COVID infection immediately if contracted, then no, they don't "work".
Similarly, fabric face coverings are not 100% effective. What they both are, is a way of reducing risk. But to loudmouthed thick twats everywhere, a massive inconvenience and a breach of their human rights.
