I listened to the Alan Partridge as my choice of audiobook with my wife campervanning around Australia
About eight hours into the book we were driving through the complete middle of no where. It was the bit where he shoots someone live on tv and she stops the van and bursts out "this is just fucking ridiculous!".
I realised i hadn't told her it was a fictional autobiography.
She'd sat through the bit where he has a nosebleed "drip, drip, drip etc" and all the rest without saying a word.
