and yes, it wouldn't work if you lived somewhere that had rocketing house prices or your wage and the dental care costs didn't keep reasonable pace with other prices

This is a normal post I'm in the UK.
Housing costs usually rise faster than everything else.
Inexpensive means noone wants to live there, for good reason.
