And my opinion is that SP following the same decades old formula isn't hacking it in this case. Their original formula was actually more of a humorous but thought-provoking social commentary. The Trump episode was just shit-flinging. The net is already drowning in that content as anyone can make AI pics and vids... so they need to do better than that. They certainly have the money and comedic resources to do and say a lot more.

You first complained that the new episode lacked the decades old formulaic element of Kyle's message, now you're complaining that they're following the same decades old formula. Nice cake?
You also complained that, like South Park, The Daily Show doesn't hit the same as it did before. Do you remember the SP 'memberberries arc? Truly, nostalgia ain't what it used to be.
Trey&Parker have the resources to do more than their full time job, and occasionally they do (such as their fantastically successful musical, and their deep fake Trump work with Serafinowicz). South Park is South Park though.

I mean, I'm just trying to explain my thoughts further to help you understand them better. I have no control if your inner voice reads them as being argumentative and complaining. I'm honestly trying to keep the convo civil, productive, and in the spirit of this cool little niche community... not contribute to making it toxic like the rest of the net.
I simply believe that extraordinary times require extraordinary measures. That, in turn, requires more imagination as more of the same has simply not helped to alter the trajectory of Trump being elected twice, or has inspired enough people to help prevent him from doing all the evil he promised.
I think it's to the extent that sociographic comedy is entering an existential crisis because the real world repercussions are becoming that dire. In short, "Okay we've all had a good laugh... but now what are we going to do about it?. I strongly feel that John Oliver gets that but it appears to me that SP may be losing that mojo.
