You're right that it is ironic that for all his vast wealth, his personality is essentially just another man-child attention-seeking internet troll, full of similar banal and tribal prejudices. It's very needy and validation seeking.
It's not the only irony, an electric car maker getting in to bed with a global warming denialist president was pretty funny.
