I'm not expecting it to turn Riyadh into San Fransciso overnight, but I reckon a place like saudi allowing western comedians to come over for their first international comedy festival is quite a nice step
humour can become quite subversive, once you allow it.certainly better than isolation and the status quo,
that's my position and I reckon if people thought about it a bit more they might realise it's reasonable. But of course then they wouldn't get to jizz sanctimony on the internet

I'm not condemning or cancelling them, I think like burr people should be able to say what they want, no matter how fatuous or first form
