This is a link post The Knife Angel Part 1 & 2 I made this!
Sorry for all the words. But, it’s hard to condense and explain.

This might be frowned upon as well but still, I always like to come back and share stuff now and then, have learned a lot over the yrs. from just returning here but, promise tho, it will be last time I’ll post anything work related, as I do get we’re not for everyone (however, if your mood changes about it) Part 2 is here: youtu.be/beZ4rG-NVnc.

Ironically, about 7 months ago, June 15th 2025, my son passed away, not knife crime related as such but more about the county lines aspect, which sits on the fringes of these issues however.

Reece faced immense challenges with a highly frequent and aggressive epileptic condition which eventually caused brain damage. Another effect of his epilepsy was acute mental health problems, with a further condition called 'Post Ictal Psychosis’.

A risk to himself and everybody around him when he was ill in this way, a big guy too, who could become combative during these seizures and MH episodes. Coupled with the fact he wanted to go out drinking/socialising with his friends (the effects of alcohol (and\or drugs) would block the effects of his meds thus, stop them working) thus aggravating situations further.

Neither perfect before but, he made a lot of his bad choices after the brain damage and, no expert but estimate, he probs had the mentality and emotional intellect of a 12 yr. old after that but, he was 28 yrs. old when he died however, before he got this illness (in 2015), he was just beginning to excel.

But, being genuinely so sick, they put him on the highest rate of disability (PIP) however, he never had pot to piss in because, local drug dealers/users/so called friends kept exploiting him plus, as parents we weren’t giving him money to kill himself anymore but, as his addiction worsened, oh boy, he did love to get exploited, until of course, the money and drugs ran out, then serious violence would erupt.

In 2018 we had to section him for the first of many times and, I thought those were my saddest memories ...

But on the 15th of June last yr. around 6am, Reece had a seizure and either /fell or had a psychotic episode and jumped from his third-floor apartment block. Suicide (in a lucid state) is also possible but we highly doubt that? Furthermore, he was in a fight about an hour before this all happened (some other loser has been arrested for pulling a makeshift weapon on Reece and is currently on bail for attempted GBH).

Anyway, these 2 short films about the Knife Angel are things made coming through the haze of all that horror above, together with Reece’s mum who found out about the Knife Angel project (and put me on to it), it was a welcome distraction for a month and it’s dedicated to the 3 police women took great care of us in our worst moments, thank you and, sorry for long explanation.

Woke up late this morning myself but yes, can only explain, it feels like we're emerging from a deeply dark place and, after 7 months, we're not quite out of it yet, really appreciate your comment and, to whoever got us on the popular page so quick, bless you!

This is a normal post Thank you
You're really kind to even try an say something back to me and sorry to put you in that position, the alternative, at home, stewing over everything, with a horrible constant heavy feeling of dread every morning. Being apart of the above was a welcome reprieve for a bit. Been a good day today tho, thank you all for that :)

This is a normal post Apologies
And thank you from both Reece's mum and myself, we take comfort and strength from this kind of support. But in order to post here tho, I had to start up an old laptop because I don't remember the password for this account plus, its linked to an old email, I can't access that either plus, the keyboard isn't working properly which is a slight hassle to reply but yes, it still continues to be a testing time, we have a court case and an inquest to look forward too later this yr. and, the people involved with the attempted GHB will no doubt blame it all on him however, the likely scenario is that he probs did start something, sorry tho, you only need to spend five mins with Reece to understand he's on the spectrum and, he isn't a person you wanna be to selling or doing massive drugs with furthermore, Reece died on the 15th of June last yr. Don't know if people remember, but that was fathers day, of all fuckin days however, thats not important but during the Knife Angel event, I was made aware about the 'Online Safety Bill', (which came into effect in March last yr.) and how the authorities can easily access everything and, with Reece's illnesses (especially when high on drugs) he told us everything in messages (he was massive security risk in that way) had filter so, I'm hoping the police can railroad through all these cunts in the near future but, we'll see?

This is a normal post At least you’ll save money on Christmas presents
Feel for you brother, getting a giant epileptic autistic son who succumbs to drugs and violence is a shit hand to be dealt in life. Being a parent is hard enough as it is. Hope you’ve made some space for looking out for yourself amongst all the angst you've no doubt had over the course.

This is a normal post I giggled at your first line mate, thanks for that lol
And thank you for saying such kind words of encouragement to me, sorry tho, I didn't mean to mislead you, shouldn't of used the word spectrum, he wasn't autistic but rather a normal person before the epilepsy however, you'd be surprised how seizures mess with your mental health over time and, after a certain point, brain damage became apparent in him so, you'd easily tell he's a person with learning delays and poor self-awareness.

Even without recreational drugs or alcohol involved his condition was super aggressive leading to this thing called 'Post Ictal Psychosis',. Ictal is the medical term for seizures and patients in Ictal psychosis can be trapped in this alternative reality for weeks (if untreated) where they're not really in control but, are the author of their own mayhem, Reece was highly unpredictable and dangerous during these periods, even the mental health doctor told us, most sufferers of the condition are harmless (but maybe a danger to themselves) adding, 'when Reece gets this, scary!', that was his exact words. I researched it up as well, theres a famous case in America where an epileptic patient used 'Post Ictal Psychosis' as a defence in a murder trial.

But yeah, it is a shit hand and he did kind of have all his chances taken away with this illness but still could off lived a fairly decent existence if it wasn't for his environment, thanks so much for your comment, I will defo take your advice and make time for myself Thank you

This is a normal post Thanks for hearing me out
And apologies if it brought the mood down but, I think the right community and people got to know a bit about Reece's story over the weekend plus, It reached an unusually high amount of votes in that short time (for me anyway) and that makes us feel very validated about it, thank you all so much.
