can someone explain to me how the frog meme thingy pivoted from a nazi 4chan meme to the complete opposite. I never really know which I am looking at.

The creator of the Pepe character was horrified that it was co-opted by fascists, apparently.
But the inflatable frog (and dinosaur) costumes people wear to ICE protests are not based on Pepe as far as I know.
