To be fair, it was the app's hosting provider that was compromised,
allowing the updater to be hijacked for highly-targetted users:

You would have to have been using an IP address in Taiwan, or surround areas, to be targeted too.
CCP went after them for having a statement about Taiwan in the About box (now removed).
