I saw them supporting Marillion at the Hammersmith Odeon in '84.
The crowd didn't really get them then (and neither did I) - during their set the air was filled with the free flexi discs they were giving away.
Not a bad tune tho

Marillion's audience were more angry. Pulp's just backed away from the stage until there was a huge gap between them and Minty!

Mike Venner is doing the lead vocals and guitar and he's very, very good. I know Tim's voice was rather divisive but Mike's is a bit less... erm... cutting.
