If you want them to make sense, you have to feed them. Get an AI, feed it what you want it to help with; for example "research all tax documents for Barnsley in 1979", then ask it questions about that. If it is still playing retard, tell it, and explain that you want a specific search. I do mean that you literally tell it it is being retarded, it'll help you refine your search. All computers are stupid. They need help.
Oh, and use an AI that doesn't store your stuff unless you tell it to.

I was more commenting
that the AI sometimes does not understand very basic sentences and does the opposite. Wilfully so I would say, if they had a will.
One would think that one capability of a large language model you could rely on would be to follow simple, basic things said in a language.
