Groucho = grouchy (clinical depression)
Chico = 'chicken-chaser' (a womaniser)
Harpo = harpist
Zeppo = slang for baby (the youngest brother)*
Gummo = had a speech impediment*
*there are many reasons given but I prefer these ones.
