it appears that a fair number of them take one normal photograph, and erm sort of vector-ise it using some ninja plug-in. And then do a bit of post-production polishing up. So not quite as jaw dropping as at first appears. But still sort of interesting in a "how far has technology progressed in leaps and in bounds" kind of way. Shame the technology appears to be wasted on fan-wank reproductions of celebrity publicity shots, rather than anything more interesting.
