This is a normal post :)
fascists/marauding biker gangs/zombies would be easier to deal with - it just makes it easier to keep your options open when they offer their 'solution' and it gives you the ability to say 'no'

EDIT: just noticed you edited in your question:

because if "saying no" involves buying land suitable for self-sufficient subsistence farming, millions (or billions) of us don't have that option.

I've still yet to read about a *practical*, *feasible* alternative to the inherently corrupt monetary system we have now.

caller asked very similiar question at 6 minutes 30 seconds into this:
www.mefeedia.com/entry/sept-14-2008-hour-2-alan-watt-on-world-review-commentary-with-george-butler/11554646/

same pod above

also it does not have to be that radical, just simple and effective, the key is in other people and a community co operation and co dependancy - in this sytem you would have to be humane to your felow man otherwise you simply wouldn't survive or flourish

there are 2 types of human - the phycopathic ones get ahead very quickly and easily in this system - people who can imitate human emotion but are deviod of empathy - people like Princess Toni BLair - people willing to step on others on the way up for personal advancement, we all know them

these characters would be ostresized in a system built on co-operation and these traits would be discouraged - we have a situation now in which people realise by taking on these traits they get ahead very quickly

and unfortuanley the freemasonic institutions which riddle society, what ever your opinion of them, exacerbate this problem

This is a normal post I'm pretty pessimistic
about our chances of building a functioning
society based on the credo "take care of your fellow man". While that might work on a village level, it stops working as soon as a population grows beyond that - as one village will always do better than another, and will then need to enlarge its territory... And we know how that ends up, because we're there now.

I don't see why the future should be any different from the past.

This is a normal post
it's simple

we have no choice because the alternative, found in books written by foundation members is not an option - it's a utopia, but not for us

"as one village will always do better than another, and will then need to enlarge its territory... And we know how that ends up, because we're there now."

I'm glad you made that point because standing armies only arose out of taxation which only arose out of the introduction of the monetary system

if cooperaton was paramount there is always an alternative solution - especially when it sdifficult to raise a standing army without money as incentive

to quote my previous posts:

the (river) bank controls the current (water)
the (financial) bank controls the currency (money)

the interchangability of the terms is not coincidence

it’s derived from the practice of banking the rivers to create population movement and coerce people into living in the city states - forcing them to give up their humane way of living of farming and barter - (how we should be living) - to an imposed system of money and governance through an elitist class structure of controlled knowledge

in early Egypt the Nile was originally a Deluge that came down from the mountains and flowed North - creating massive swamps and tributaries - the Hamites came in and created one river (BANKS) - the people who used to have water access for their crops had to move into the created cities (and ‘civilisation’ ) and became slaves for the 'understanding class' who had access to ‘the sciences’ or ‘The mystery religions’ as they were known back then. (this survives today via Freemasonry - ask your local policeman, judge, solictor, university lecturer etc or anyone with a uniform (UNI_FORM - to shape as one - within))

once you have your population in your city state, that’s when the fun really starts in the form of taxes (CURRENCY) and labour. Which are then extracted by the ruling elite (the priesthoods and leisure classes) - with taxes came the creation of standing armies and the suppression of the governed populations - it’s an old formulae used by all elites throughout history for millennia (this is why the bee hive (BE_HAVE) is such an ancient symbol in freemasonry - and especially now as we are led into “the New Age” - with the new eco religion of ‘Gaia worship’ Gorbachev wrote of recently - and the whole Club of Rome climate change con we see emerging)

THe Club of Rome: The First Global Revolution (1991),

page 104;
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill ...
All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."
- Club of Rome,

"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis..."
- David Rockefeller, Club of Rome executive member

to have this elite class living in luxury supported by a labouring underclass you need money(to pay the standing armies) and there needs to be a system in place to make it all happen - and a beaurocratic structure to maintain it - scoot forward a few thousand years and we take this system to its ‘natural’ conclusion with the ultimate scam

This is a normal post I think you're being a bit too optimistic
all a change would do is change who is on which side.

Humans are humans, the reason why we survive is because we're adaptable and opportunistic. It's built into us to take advantage of each other, and anyone that has ever tried to influence anyones opinion ever is included.

This is a normal post i disagree
not only is interdependance preferable and enjoyable it's a necessity for peaceful harmonious survival - and who doesn't want that? - yep we all have traits of egocentrcity but only because they are the 'favoured' traits which have been encouraged in this contrived system - run by people with the psychopathic tendancies and lack of empathy (otherwise they wouldn't be so high up in the establishment - bacsue it takes these traist to advance so quickly ) (as Bertrand Russel wrote in "Education and the Good Life" and "the impact of Science on Sociuety")

imagine a system where the opposite traits were encouraged from an early age instead?

it's why they knew they had to destroy the family unit to destroy the last vestiges of the 'tribe' - a child being indoctrinated with his values from the educational establishment and not his parents

This is a normal post have you ever tried to take advantage of a situation?
if so, where do you see yourself in this new society?

This is a normal post iot woudl be great if
a Rebublic existed - but one never has ( US is a democracy despite starting out with best intentions - (demos - means group or mob) mob rule) someone said demcoracy is 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner

and Edward G. griffin (in his book creatures of Jekyl Island- about Fed reserve ) goes into how democracy is corruputable but Republics are self regulating and it's purpose to protect the minority and liberties of population in general - democracy over rules personal liberties in favour of a (sometimes easily manipulated) mass consensus
