i remember one of the cumbrian witnesses being interviewed on channel 4 news:
witness: I'd just like to pass on my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims
channel 4 news: yeah yeah thats great, but tell us - how big was his gun?!

Lots of people all over the country wanted to know how big his gun was.
Very few people give a fuck about how heartfelt the condolences of one elderly cumbrian lady are. 's a public service innit.
