"Paid for by myself" is somewhat unlikely, unless you've voluntarily taken it upon yourself to write your university a cheque for the shortfall between the current level of fees and the actual cost of your tuition which is currently subsidised by the government. I presume you didn't take out a loan at preferential rates either.
Running a country is a vastly complex process with innumerable interconnected parts. Simplistic reductionism does nothing to further the debate.
