My son was born 2 1/2 weeks ago and its taken me that long to choose what song I should play him first
I went for this in the end, bit melancholy but it got him to sleep.
I cried a little bit too.
Opinions?

Spiritualized are awesome
'Ladies and gentlmen we are floating in space' is one of my top albums.
Remember the cd case for that?...a friend of mine bought 2 copies so one will always be brand new =)
Cool waves would have been a good one from the same album to help drift your son away to sleep..... bit happier too.....Electricity certainly wouldnt't work haha

I did follow it up with Cool Waves, worked pretty much the same
I wish I'd bought two copies as well and left one unopened, I reckon it'd be worth something now.
Met someone at a party that had the vinyl version, v.cool.

For my son's first birthday, I did a montage from his first year of life
Loads of 5-10 sec clips, put to 'Invincible' by Muse. The song now always brings me to the verge of tears...
I tried uploading it to youtube, but their copyright scanners detected that I was not Matt Bellamy and wouldn't let me, so I used 'Sleep The Clock Around' by Belle and Sebastian instead.
