I guess
..I have an image of him sitting down to eat his evening meal and picking up the local paper, perusing the small ads. "Snap On adjustable Spanner For Sale", he reads. He puts down his knife and fork, puts on his hat and coat, drives across town and buys the spanner. Returns home, tosses the spanner in the Adjustable Spanner Drawer and returns to his meal.
