This is a normal post LET THE LOOTING BEGIN!!!
Remember that big cargo ship that crashed off the coast of south Devon a few years back? People made off with all the BMW motorbikes... I wonder what happened to those?

My uncle took two giant crates of nappies for his kid and loaded them into his van. He's on kid number two now and he's roughly halfway through the 2nd crate.

This is a normal post hmmm
you've effectively just shopped your uncle on a public messageboard... he has, after all, committed an illegal act, no?

/dons self-righteous hat of indifference

This is a normal post It isn't illegal as such.
You're allowed to recover goods that are washed up on the seashore as long as you inform the official receiver of wrecks that you've rescued goods.

The owner can then recover the goods but has to pay you a salvage fee for saving his goods.

There's a fair few houses near where I live that were built with wood that washed overboard from a cargo ship years ago. (There's also one house that has a lintel made from one of the stones from a prehistoric stone circle.)

This is a normal post I'm sure there's an easier way
to lay your hands on some gravel.

This is a normal post legal looting all the way!
There was also the incident of a ship loosing all of its timber. It ended up covering a good 15 miles or so of coast line. img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/01_03/timberPA2001_468x573.jpg
