I had no idea, I thought it only used history and cookies for shopping, services and advert results - not primary searches.

Hopefully it won't just return a shitload of porn/spam/shock-sites/rubbish/phishing-site/etc.
Though there's a bit of me that would love to see how a late 90's era search site would cope with the net of today and what results it would return. Probably horrific.

I do like Duck Duck Go, mainly for its handy !bangsyntax, but this is a little overblown.
Most of this is determined by your Web History store at Google. You can Google how to disable that! It was pretty easy a while ago, but since Plus they've changed the Dashboard. Your search results will be marginally less useful, of course.
