I just felt it tried too hard
It had slick direction and editing that's for sure but not as a homage to those before it, more as a clunky copy. I just felt it was predictable..you know? Oh here's a shot of him looking mad.TA DAH....oh here's another shot of him in heavy make up, stark lighting, red backdrop looking like a circus freak..how original. I understood what they tried to do, but I didn't buy into it.
