That does explain a fair bit ... 'spending a lot of time picking garbage out of them' (that's too bad) ... 'accidentally pulled off' (why would they pull the tail anyway unless said hunter didn't give a toss about the animal ?)

If evolution doesn't want a dog to have a tail ... so fucking be it.
Edit: sorry about the generalisation about hunters ... the ones I've met in the UK are cunts ... I'm sure you're great and care about animal welfare really.

This is a normal post Dogs get their tails pulled off in many ways. The forays into the bushes were illustrative of tight spots that can present danger
I don't hunt as much as I'd like. Pheasant hunting on the plains with a good dog is a lot of fun.

Edit: the biggest land conservation groups in the US involve hunters. They try to keep land from being developed and many put land holdings in their wills with covenants that it can't be developed. And unlike many of their urban conservationist brethren, they actually get out into nature.
