I brought back some preserved eggs back from Hong Kong recently
I tried one of the quails eggs. It was vile. The texture of the 'white' (which was now black) was like eating rubber but with a really disturbing flavour. The yolk itself seemed quite pleasant but I suspect a dog turd would have seemed nice after chewing through the rest of it. I did a lot of retching before finally managing to swallow it (eaten as a dare before you ask). The equivalent hens eggs went straight in the bin after that!

I had Century Egg in Hong Kong recently
Absolutely gorgeous. I didn't even know it was egg when I first saw it, but it was pretty fkn obvious once you started eating them. The creamiest richest eggy flavour I ever tasted since
