It was the first audio program that I decided to buy along with my new PC (at the time), an old akai sampler, a novation a-station and a behringer mixer. (compensation money).

Well I've had few problems with Cubase and ASIO
Also, in terms of processor power, RAM and a fancy RAID config - I got a lot more for 800 quid than I would with apple. It's nice to run 20 instances of Massive just for fun.
ps I used to use an Akai S3000XL. Ahh the memories. I still have an A Station - the sub bass patch is still useful.
