Hottest place I went to was Crete at 115 - spent the whole time hiding in the shade and people had to run to the sea on the beach as the sand was so hot. I don't want to sound like an ungrateful bastard for my childhood holiday but it was bullshit.

sorry i am not laughing at you! the only time i ALWAYS remember shoes... is for the beach, one summer when i was 7 with blisters on the bottom of my feet insured that.
