I sort of do that
although I seem to have a typing buffer - which I can empty while talking to someone, but can't refill. So after 30 seconds or so I run out of things I was going to type and have to either stop typing and go fully over to conversation, or stop talking and go back to what I was doing.

She doesn't understand: that is how musicians always converse! We cannot do it without farting about on our instrument!
