Not quite the same, but it reminded me of recently when we had my wife's mum playing Kinekt. It took us ages to get her to have a go, then we watched her play for half an hour. Then we raised a controller and pretended she'd been dancing for nothing.
Now I think about it, we should have done it the other way around.
