This is a link post New Miyazaki (studio ghibli) film coming out next year and it might just be a return to form.
Called Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises)

"The poster for Kaze Tachinu says the film is a homage to both Jiro Horikoshi and Hori Tatsuo. Horikoshi is the designer of the Zero Fighter, and we already know the movie centers around his life (likely to be heavily fictionized). Hori Tatsuo is a famous Japanese writer who wrote a novel called Kaze Tachinu, a story about a pair of young lovers where the girl succumbs to illness and the guy returns to the village where they first met to spend his winter. Sounds like this could be the most depressing Miyazaki movie yet!"

It seems to feature anthropomorphised pigs judging from pictures of his manga on which it's based.

This is a normal post Didn't realise he had done Grave of the Fireflies.
For whatever reason this new one by him doesn't appeal to me all that much though.

This is a normal post Takahata is arguably the more interesting of the two Ghibli founders (not that I don't love Miyazaki's work),
so I'm very interested in this.

This is a normal post super!
I dont mind some of the later Studio Ghibli movies. they are no Spirited Away, but even Ponyo is incredibly beautiful. I look forward to it.

This is a normal post I actually saw that at the cinema for the first time just a few weeks ago.
I liked it a lot, but fell asleep because the cinema was too comfy.

This is a normal post Laputa is my favourite.
The Nausicaa manga is far more epic than the anime.
